Google Hangout is part of the multiple tools included in GSuite, Google’s new office suite. The application provides an ideal virtual environment for collaboration in the workplace.

In addition to allowing text, voice and video exchanges on any device (PC, phone, tablet, etc.), Hangout is fully integrated with other GSuite applications to facilitate its use. For example, Hangout meetings can be accessed directly from shared events in each guest’s calendars (Google Calendar), and they can send messages to participants from a calendar on their smartphones (in case Delay). During these meetings, the documents (text file, spreadsheets, database, etc.) can also be worked together in screen-sharing mode. Only the owner of the document can edit it; Much like a teacher would do on a school board.

On the other hand, documents produced with Google tools (Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Forms, etc.) can also be worked in a collaborative mode unique to the Google environment. This allows you to share these directly from your Google Drive space on your Hangout interface and edit a file with all participants in your meeting. You’ll be amazed to see each coworker’s cursor wander through the same document as they add, correct, edit, and comment on the contents of a single file in real time.

Hangout also allows you to make free calls anywhere in North America using exclusively your Internet connections; Up to 25 participants can join a Hangout meeting at the same time. Businesses that integrate Hangout into their work culture will realize significant savings in traditional travel and telecommunication costs, especially if they are present on multiple sites or have mobile teams.

Hangout promotes and accelerates the exchange of ideas within organizations. The tool makes collaboration easy and accessible without being limited by the location or device used. Collaboration, allowing better mobilization of individual skills, makes the organization more intelligent and innovative. Collaboration is also recognized as a vehicle for the members of the team and thus optimally supports the mission of the company.
